Pure, unadulterated, low-altitude, jet fighter awesomeness

Over on Flixxy someone posted the top 10 Low-Pass Jet Fly-bys. If you could capture the awesomeness of this is a liquid form it would… um… taste really good… or something.

Anyway… watch this and be blown away.

The notes on the flixxy page identify the jets as follows:

#10: F-16 (Royal Netherlands Airforce) #9: F-16 #8: F-16 #7: Harrier #6: Blue Angels F-18 (Cleveland) #5: Harrier #4: Alpha Jet (Belgian Airforce) #3: Harrier #2: KC-135 Stratotanker (CGI?) . . . → Read More: Pure, unadulterated, low-altitude, jet fighter awesomeness

Semicolons: the only grammar related poster I’ve ever been tempted to buy

Okay, that may very well be the longest title I’ve ever written on this blog. New milestone! Woo hoo!

The Oatmeal, while not very old, has become an insanely popular site, and with good reason. It’s really funny.

I first saw it when I got a link on Facebook to How addicted to Facebook are you? and then How Long Could You Survive Chained to a Bunkbed with a Velociraptor?

Since then I’ve been pointed . . . → Read More: Semicolons: the only grammar related poster I’ve ever been tempted to buy

The best cake I’ve ever seen

I’m not even exaggerating. This blows my mind. There are certainly cakes that are unbelievably beautiful (and this is not one of them), but the level of detail on this cake, and the obvious love put into it, is staggering!

That it has a sci-fi theme is just, well… icing on the cake.

There's really too much to take in here

Australia’s Best Sound Reproduction Expert

I could go on about the Academy awards snubbing Australia, or talk about the challenges CDs face in nature, but why should I make you wait for this just so I can make a stupid joke that you probably won’t get anyway? Not that you’re not all preternaturally intelligent, but let’s face it: the joke would just be bad.

So let’s just get to it. This lyra bird is amazing.

Sci-fi Periodic Table (TV and Movies)

Yeah… somebody had too much time on their hands.

Still, it’s kinda fun.

You can even buy a print of this if you’re interested (I don’t see a penny… I assume this is to the artist’s benefit).

Movies 2010 – must see or must miss?

It looks like we’re headed into another year of big movies. I’m getting all fan-boy giddy just thinking about what’s coming.

On the heels of Avatar, though, it seems like every big movie is being filmed in 3-D. While I’m okay with that, it means two things: feeling a little weird wearing those glasses, and higher ticket prices. Just going to a 2-D movie is more than I want to pay for movies these days. . . . → Read More: Movies 2010 – must see or must miss?
