I have been on a movie kick lately and saw 3 in 4 days. Well 2 and a half. First was “The Road”, a very dark story which moves slow. I fell asleep half way through (good book though). #2 was the Wolfman, again very slow and I fell asleep halfway through but the next night I finished watching it. It ended okay but if you miss it dont worry about it. Last night I saw Alice in Wonderland and was very pleased. Definitly one of the better movies I have seen lately. Alice was worth it but skip the others.

Nice list. I hadn’t heard of The Expendables before. Looks pretty good.

Sadly, I think the A-Team is gonna end up on DVD for me too, now that I’m getting a better feel for my summer. It’s gonna be pretty tough to get to all three May movies that I’m shooting for (Losers, Iron Man 2, Prince of Persia).

I’ve been hearing a lot of good stuff about that Dragon movie. I had dismissed it early on, but maybe a second look is in order.

My schedule slightly opens up a bit in June. We should be able to take advantage of those babysitters at some point around then. May is turning out pretty tight.

My list is below in priority order. As for the babysitter, if you come up here we have the built in model and that way we can all go together BTW, you should see how to train your dragon, that was very good and the girls loved it.

(reality is that I will see 3-4 tops… but lists are fun)

Toy Story 3 (Show them the first one on DVD to gauge the response… Kayla and Lauren are excited to see #3)

Obviously that “listen to the podcast” bit is in there for other readers who may be in your situation of having not seen Tron yet. ‘Cause there ain’t no transcript of that podcast I’m aware of.

Well, you’ve got a few months left to fit in the original Tron. Legacy is a direct sequel, so I’d suggest checking it out. And if you want some discussion about it, go listen to the podcast I participated in a while back. Or wait until I make the inevitable post focusing on Legacy.

Since you haven’t seen the original, I’ll forgive your passing over Legacy as “event movie” status. But just barely. I mean, take a look at that trailer, man!

I considered putting Despicable Me on the list, btw. I just felt like the list was already long and it’s not likely I’ll see that one in the theater. I may not even see it in 2010.

(I have taken sporadic posting to a new level, I think. One half-hearted post in February… if I ever go an entire calendar month without posting I think it’s safe to say the apathy will have won.)

Good thing you’re in my RSS feed or I would not have known about your return to the Blogosphere. Welcome back!

Your list includes pretty much every upcoming movie that interests me (except for Despicable Me). But I only see one “event movie”: Iron Man 2. I’ll be at the first captioned showing within 50 miles, mark my words. Everything else is going into my Netflix queue. It will be an interesting fall and holiday season for DVD releases, to be sure.

I’m embarrassed to say that I have yet to see the original Tron. Well, I’ve seen bits and pieces, of course — but never the whole feature. Just added that to my Netflix queue as well. Maybe after seeing the original, I’ll be stoked to see the re-make, re-imagining, sequel, or whatever it is.

BTW, I have always loved the Narnia books, but found the movies unwatchable. Not exactly sure why.
