By Jeff, on April 25th, 2010 “Dude,” (for some reason this conversation frequently begins with “dude”) “you’re the most technical person I know. How can you not even have a cell phone?”
This conversation (or a variation focusing on a different piece of technology) comes up in my life with some regularity. It happened again recently.
It’s true. I don’t have a cell phone.
(Well… technically, there is a cell phone that exists with my name on the account. But my . . . → Read More: The Neo-Luddite Geek Technologist
By Jeff, on April 23rd, 2010 This is probably my favorite short film to date.
I’m sure that says something about me.
This really is an amazing job. My favorite is the Tetris demolition. Frogger was a nice cameo, too.
By Jeff, on April 20th, 2010 NO! I am not talking about the insipid, rodent-filled name-stealer.
Why?! Why did they do it?!
Similar to Lee’s story in the blog entry that I’m blatantly ripping off, even to the point of taking his graphics, when I heard about a live action G-Force movie I could feel the 10-year old geek in me pushing and punching the 38-year old (at the time) actual geek that is me to race to . . . → Read More: G-Force ROCKS!
By Jeff, on April 13th, 2010 This is just a list of things I saw today that you need to see.
Doctor Horrible, Act 1, the 8-bit Nintendo version:
Mail truck converted into a Colonial Viper (original Battlestar Galactica design):
And it’s street legal!
And finally, to shed doubt onto the truism that anything is better with bacon, we have two entries:
an AT-AT made of bacon…
…and a bacon AK-47.
And that’s pretty much all . . . → Read More: Stuff you just need to see
By Jeff, on April 2nd, 2010 Where do you fit?
Do you hit the tri-fecta?
Come on, if you read this blog it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that you’re at least a geek. You may be in the nerd category. One or two of you could be dorks. I’m not sure if we have any dweebs here, but I won’t rule it out.
It’s time to self-identify, people. Out yourselves.
I’ll start: I’m putting myself right at the border . . . → Read More: Geeknerddorkdweeb
By Jeff, on April 1st, 2010 Everything old is new again.
In anticipation of Tron: Legacy, a fan created this new trailer for the original Tron (1982), with a more modern look and feel. He did a fantastic job. Really great.
He said:
Wanted to make a exciting trailer with a modern feel as oppose to its original marketing in the 80s. I hope people will give this movie a try before they see Tron Legacy. Sure its dated but . . . → Read More: New Tron Trailer
By Jeff, on April 1st, 2010 I’ve realized something about myself. I hate changing state. That’s at the core of my being. I don’t like the act of changing my current condition. It almost doesn’t matter what my current condition is. I may not even like my current condition that much. I just don’t like going to a different condition.
If I’m asleep, I don’t want to get up.
If I’m awake, I don’t want to stop what I’m doing to . . . → Read More: Changes of state
