Longest tennis match in Grand Slam history!

Look at that fifth set!!

Holy cow… this is just insane…

What kind of a monster athlete do you have to be to play a single set of tennis for 491 minutes?! That’s over 8 hours of play in just one set… almost 3 times longer than the other 4 sets combined!

The whole match was played over a series of 3 days at Wimbledon.

70-68?! Seriously?

Looks like I picked the wrong year to skip watching tennis.

That is just absolutely unbelievable.

Wow.

  • We were watching the games because the soccer was on with Australia playing at the same time and we caught about 20 minutes before the network that carries the tennis here in Australia left the match (they are idiots). They were still playing some amazing tennis at the ninth hour!

I went back and watched some of the last day of the match (that that sentence even makes sense is crazy) on the ESPN3 recording. Those guys were still right on top of it straight through to the end. Just pure, solid tennis.

The hardest part was watching Mahut have to endure the ceremony afterwards, when he had to be in agony after the loss.
