FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH: Famous Last Words I've seen this referenced many times since it was first released, but I never watched it until recently, figuring it would be depressing (plusHow to leave a lasting legacy

This is the kind of stuff that keeps sucking me back into the world of Star Wars gaming. I LOVE this stuff. I have no idea how the actual game experienceStar Wars: The Old Republic - cinematics

I'm going to revisit a couple of topics discussed here recently and then we'll hit some new topics. Well, after my last post I finished watching The Event. I stick withRevisitation and new worlds

I talked about this one before, but I had to mention that I just watched a Mythbusters episode on the Discovery Channel that confirmed that impairment is at least asImpairment while driving on phone > drunk driving

The coolest thing about The Illusionist is that every trick he does is something that can be performed practically. The movie does use a little CGI because of production constraintsReview: The Illusionist

For a story about a groundbreaking mathematical proof, Proof had virtually zero math in it. If you ask me, that's a good thing. Let me put my review in the form ofReview: Proof

No, I'm not talking about downloadable, put-it-on-your-iPod-and-go music (well, the sites do make it easy to buy the singles as a download). I'm talking about music to listen to whenFree music on the internet!

I'm of two minds about this movie. On the one hand, it was extremely well done, especially the directing and acting, and the subject was enticing and kept my interest.Review: The Aviator

This is pretty funny if you've ever been addicted to Tetris. Mike, you should enjoy this. It doesn't really get funny until about the 1:00 mark, though. [kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/SYRLTF71Sow" width="425" height="350" wmode="transparent" /] [tags]YouTube,Tetris humor

Ferguson’s Doctor Who show

Craig Ferguson’s Late Late show did a Doctor Who themed episode on Tuesday night.

Craig cracks me up. And he’s a true Doctor Who fan, too.

Here’s the “Cold Opening” and monologue:

The Doctor Who themed Twitter and Email segment:

And finally the interview with the newest Doctor, Matt Smith.

And the closing segment:

Craig is weird enough that there may not ever have been a dance number… but I kind . . . → Read More: Ferguson’s Doctor Who show

Green Lantern – first trailer

I’ve been excited and worried about this one for a long time. Green Lantern is an exceptionally hard character to pull off in live-action. More than most other super-heroes, the effects are front and center, and extremely important to get right, but extremely susceptible to looking cartoony. They have to look realistic, and yet they have no connection to reality. The ring effects in particular should have substance, and yet not. Go too far one . . . → Read More: Green Lantern – first trailer

Clean the fan, with Ultraman

Wow! I’m geeking out! This guy managed to mix computer laptop maintenance and an Ultraman-like tribute into a catchy, funny song! He even got a Queen tribute in!

Hats off to that dude. Way to go.

I wonder if he ever got that laptop back together.

The time is shortly upon us.

The wait is nearly over.

Wait… let me get my oxygen…

Okay. I feel better now. Got a little giddy there for a second.

There are three movies left in 2010 that I really want to see in theaters. Back in March I reviewed the trailers for a bunch of 2010 films and picked a list of about 12 movies I was . . . → Read More: Holiday trailers – Tron: Legacy, Narnia 3, and HP:TDH

Death of Civility

(I’m pretty much stealing this post from Walt. I didn’t ask him. Is that a breach of civility?)

So the Today show is doing a series called “Is Civility Dead?” Below is the initial segment. Sorry to those outside the US – it’s from Hulu (I couldn’t find it on YouTube). And for those in the US… only available until Sunday.

I totally agree with everything in that segment.

Found on Facebook

Facebook is a place where absolutely nothing of importance happens. But you do get to see some funny, or at least interesting, posts from time to time. Here are some of the better ones I’ve seen recently:

Throwing spaghetti on the wall

This post is going to be like throwing spaghetti on the wall: I’m just gonna toss a lot of stuff up here and see what sticks. It worked for Oscar Madison (okay, that was linguini – work with me).

According to Slice-of-Sci-Fi…

Deathly Hallows trailer released

Look, let’s just get right to it. If the movie is nearly as good as this trailer makes it out to be, it’s going to be awesome…

I was let down a bit by the last entry in the series, but this one (well, these two, technically) looks like it’s gonna deliver. There’s gotta be an epic battle at the school… look at all the dead (I assume) bodies scattered around Voldemort and Harry . . . → Read More: Deathly Hallows trailer released
