By Jeff, on November 18th, 2010 Craig Ferguson’s Late Late show did a Doctor Who themed episode on Tuesday night.
Craig cracks me up. And he’s a true Doctor Who fan, too.
Here’s the “Cold Opening” and monologue:
The Doctor Who themed Twitter and Email segment:
And finally the interview with the newest Doctor, Matt Smith.
And the closing segment:
Craig is weird enough that there may not ever have been a dance number… but I kind . . . → Read More: Ferguson’s Doctor Who show
By Jeff, on November 16th, 2010 I’ve been excited and worried about this one for a long time. Green Lantern is an exceptionally hard character to pull off in live-action. More than most other super-heroes, the effects are front and center, and extremely important to get right, but extremely susceptible to looking cartoony. They have to look realistic, and yet they have no connection to reality. The ring effects in particular should have substance, and yet not. By Jeff, on November 15th, 2010 Wow! I’m geeking out! This guy managed to mix computer laptop maintenance and an Ultraman-like tribute into a catchy, funny song! He even got a Queen tribute in!
Hats off to that dude. Way to go.
I wonder if he ever got that laptop back together.
By Jeff, on November 9th, 2010 The time is shortly upon us.
The wait is nearly over.
Let the glorious holiday IMAX season BEGIN!!!
Wait… let me get my oxygen…
Okay. I feel better now. Got a little giddy there for a second.
There are three movies left in 2010 that I really want to see in theaters. Back in March I reviewed the trailers for a bunch of 2010 films and picked a list of about 12 movies I was . . . → Read More: Holiday trailers – Tron: Legacy, Narnia 3, and HP:TDH
By Jeff, on November 3rd, 2010 (I’m pretty much stealing this post from Walt. I didn’t ask him. Is that a breach of civility?)
So the Today show is doing a series called “Is Civility Dead?” Below is the initial segment. Sorry to those outside the US – it’s from Hulu (I couldn’t find it on YouTube). And for those in the US… only available until Sunday.
I totally agree with everything in that segment.
Did incivility exist before the . . . → Read More: Death of Civility
By Jeff, on September 25th, 2010 Facebook is a place where absolutely nothing of importance happens. But you do get to see some funny, or at least interesting, posts from time to time. Here are some of the better ones I’ve seen recently:
(That was actually from fellow Coalition of Awesomeness member Dan’s blog, but I saw it through a post on Facebook, so it counts.)
OK GO has some great videos. Easily some of the most inventive . . . → Read More: Found on Facebook
By Jeff, on September 8th, 2010 This post is going to be like throwing spaghetti on the wall: I’m just gonna toss a lot of stuff up here and see what sticks. It worked for Oscar Madison (okay, that was linguini – work with me).
Movie prices
According to Slice-of-Sci-Fi…
The weekend closed out the books for the summer season and while ticket sales were up to $4.35 billion, the highest total ever for a summer season, overall attendance was down. Attendance this . . . → Read More: Throwing spaghetti on the wall

By Jeff, on July 23rd, 2010 Stop, right now. Don’t read anything else. Just click the play button below. Okay, I’ll forgive you if hit the Expand button first. Seriously. Do it. Now.
Did you watch it? You’re not allowed to read the rest of this post until you’ve watched it! I’ll let you go if you didn’t watch it full screen, but you’re not doing yourself any favors.
Okay, lets get on with it.
Obviously what you’ve just seen . . . → Read More: Tron: Legacy – new trailer
By Jeff, on June 29th, 2010 Look, let’s just get right to it. If the movie is nearly as good as this trailer makes it out to be, it’s going to be awesome…
I was let down a bit by the last entry in the series, but this one (well, these two, technically) looks like it’s gonna deliver. There’s gotta be an epic battle at the school… look at all the dead (I assume) bodies scattered around Voldemort and Harry . . . → Read More: Deathly Hallows trailer released
