Star Wars Conundrum: Original Trilogy Reflection

Maybe I should have called this series of posts “Force Fed”.

While that’s not exactly the truth about how it went down, that title does reflect a bit of how I feel now that we’ve completed watching Return of the Jedi, and thus the original trilogy.

I definitely didn’t force my kids to watch these movies. They’ve been asking (and at times whining) to see them. I do think that I didn’t hold out as . . . → Read More: Star Wars Conundrum: Original Trilogy Reflection

Holiday trailers – Tron: Legacy, Narnia 3, and HP:TDH

The time is shortly upon us.

The wait is nearly over.

Let the glorious holiday IMAX season BEGIN!!!

Wait… let me get my oxygen…

Okay. I feel better now. Got a little giddy there for a second.

There are three movies left in 2010 that I really want to see in theaters. Back in March I reviewed the trailers for a bunch of 2010 films and picked a list of about 12 movies I was . . . → Read More: Holiday trailers – Tron: Legacy, Narnia 3, and HP:TDH

Back to Narnia with a new trailer, and a 2010 movie update

After a troubled history with Disney, 20th Century Fox has picked up the Narnia series and is moving forward. This December we’ll be treated to the next installment in the series, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  The first trailer has just been released…

Chronicles Of Narnia 3

It looks good to me, but I don’t remember many of the details of this story. My favorite was always the first book in the series, . . . → Read More: Back to Narnia with a new trailer, and a 2010 movie update

Movies 2010 – must see or must miss?

It looks like we’re headed into another year of big movies. I’m getting all fan-boy giddy just thinking about what’s coming.

On the heels of Avatar, though, it seems like every big movie is being filmed in 3-D. While I’m okay with that, it means two things: feeling a little weird wearing those glasses, and higher ticket prices. Just going to a 2-D movie is more than I want to pay for movies these days. . . . → Read More: Movies 2010 – must see or must miss?

Sci-fi news roundup

Here are a few Science Fiction/Fantasy tidbits I picked up on the smoke-signal network recently.

Like a ship wandering through the seas of Hollywood, it looked like Narnia sequel The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was going to be lost as Disney debated dropping the property after The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and Prince Caspian didn’t do quite as well as they’d hoped. Well, apparently they’ve been steered to the correct port, because . . . → Read More: Sci-fi news roundup

C.S. Lewis on living by hope

Last week I started doing something I hardly ever do – I started reading a non-fiction book. Even more amazingly, it’s an auto-biography. That’s a genre I almost never delve into. In fact, I can’t even remember the last non-fiction book I read cover to cover. It’s not even a recent book. I ran across it literally by providence, and decided to bring it home.

The book is Surprised by Joy by C.S. Lewis, author . . . → Read More: C.S. Lewis on living by hope
