Stuff you just need to see

This is just a list of things I saw today that you need to see.

Doctor Horrible, Act 1, the 8-bit Nintendo version:

Mail truck converted into a Colonial Viper (original Battlestar Galactica design):

And it’s street legal!

And finally, to shed doubt onto the truism that anything is better with bacon, we have two entries:

an AT-AT made of bacon…

…and a bacon AK-47.

And that’s pretty much all . . . → Read More: Stuff you just need to see

Dr. Horrible: Commentary! The Musical

Once again, I just have to say this is a genius idea.

Dark Knight takes it slow, plus Robot Chicken and Terminator

The Dark Knight

Christopher Nolan, director of The Dark Knight, has stated that he’s in no hurry to make the second sequel to Batman Begins. He has reason to be cautious. Historically speaking, the third installment in a franchise has been, shall we say, lacking. Superman III, Spiderman 3, Terminator 3, Batman Forever, Rocky III, Police Academy 3… need I go on? Nolan’s got the right idea:

“I don’t know why they’re hard to . . . → Read More: Dark Knight takes it slow, plus Robot Chicken and Terminator

Pre-order the Dr. Horrible DVD

I’ve talked about Dr. Horrible before. It really is a great little musical. Well, now it’s being released on DVD. I’ve started to shy away from buying DVDs, but I might go for this one. It’s almost too much of a draw on its own, but throw in the fact that the commentary is being performed as a musical as well, and I’m not sure I can let this one pass. That’s just too perfect . . . → Read More: Pre-order the Dr. Horrible DVD

Are you E.L.E. material?

Applications are open until October 11th.

Sadly, my henchmen – Butterball and The Human Chihuahua – are on vacation, and training temps at this late hour is just not a headache I’m willing to take on.

I’ll be interested to see what poser gets the spot that is rightfully mine.

Horrible music is really pretty good

One of the things that surprised me most about Dr. Horrible was the quality of the music. I knew Joss Whedon had written a musical episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer that got great fan reaction, but I’ve never seen it, so I didn’t know how good he and his brother were with music.

These two songs, the finale of act 1 and the start of act 2, are easily my favorites (though I love . . . → Read More: Horrible music is really pretty good

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along blog

I made a quick mention of this once before after seeing the trailer. I just saw the first act (which was so popular it brought down the servers on its release). This is hilarious.

Joss Whedon's internet-only superhero musical

Go watch this. Seriously. It’s only about 13 minutes. I thought the viewer email section went on a bit long, but it was still funny. It really gets good when . . . → Read More: Dr Horrible’s Sing-along blog
