By Jeff, on June 5th, 2011 In light of my most recent post, and the fact that I’m putting the Polls back in the right sidebar, I thought I’d open up a new poll question…
What’s the best X-Men movie?
X-Men X-Men: United (X2) X-Men: The Last Stand X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men: First Class

I’m still going with the original X-Men. I think it showed the teamwork aspect better than the others, though really X2 and First Class are really close for me.
Feel free to discuss your reasons in the comments.
By Jeff, on January 30th, 2011 In the 7 day challenge, today’s topic is: Answer one question I think people visiting my blog may have.
Let’s be honest: I have no idea what question you guys/gals may have. Y’all need to speak up more for me to discern that.
So that leaves me with a choice – I can come up with some completely self-serving question like “what’s the best post you’ve written?” or I can make up something that allows . . . → Read More: How geeky are you, really? – 7 day challenge
By Jeff, on June 15th, 2010 My daughters and I are enjoying my new Hadrian’s Walk Buff. They love the balaclava mode. I’m partial to the pirate configuration, myself. Unfortunately an eye patch is not included, but even so I think it makes me measurably cooler to be around.
My wife, however, falls into fits of barely controlled chuckling whenever she sees me in it. Something is going to have to give. I leave it to you, the good people of the internet, . . . → Read More: Buff/Not So Buff
By Jeff, on April 2nd, 2010 Where do you fit?
Do you hit the tri-fecta?
Come on, if you read this blog it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that you’re at least a geek. You may be in the nerd category. One or two of you could be dorks. I’m not sure if we have any dweebs here, but I won’t rule it out.
It’s time to self-identify, people. Out yourselves.

By Jeff, on March 10th, 2010 It looks like we’re headed into another year of big movies. I’m getting all fan-boy giddy just thinking about what’s coming.
On the heels of Avatar, though, it seems like every big movie is being filmed in 3-D. While I’m okay with that, it means two things: feeling a little weird wearing those glasses, and higher ticket prices. Just going to a 2-D movie is more than I want to pay for movies these days. . . . → Read More: Movies 2010 – must see or must miss?
By Jeff, on January 16th, 2009 Battlestar Galactica is returning for the second half of its fourth and final season tonight (NOTE for those recording… the first new episode is extended and will go about 4 minutes over the hour). Just 10 episodes stand between us and the final fate of Humans and Cylons—even fewer than that before we find out the identity of the fifth Cylon. If you’ve forgotten what’s happened to this point (or for some crazy reason you’re . . . → Read More: Battlestar blitz – be prepared

By Jeff, on May 31st, 2008 The preview makes it look like Roslin is the last Cylon, but is that just trailer-trickery?
Get your vote in now, before all is revealed next week! (A few names on here are pretty much out of the running now… this is an old poll with Agathon newly added as a possibility.)

By Jeff, on April 1st, 2007 Well, we finally got 10 votes on the first poll, and after a close race between “Good” and “For the sake of Humanity, make it stop!” it looks like the blog is going to stick around for a while.
So now I’m giving you Battlestar Galactica fans a chance to make your opinion part of public record. Four of the “final five” Cylons were revealed in the third season finale. Who do you think is . . . → Read More: Poll: The Fifth Cylon
