Green Lantern: First Flight (and other Green Lantern news) – Tuesday TubeWatch

(Holy cow, was today Tuesday?! What happened to last week?)

The new animated Green Lantern movie, First Flight was released last week. Here are the first four minutes of the film…

Movie Trailers – Movies Blog

I’m looking forward to seeing the whole thing.

Not as much as I’m looking forward to the live action movie, though. But my excitement is a little tempered by news of who landed the role of Hal Jordan: . . . → Read More: Green Lantern: First Flight (and other Green Lantern news) – Tuesday TubeWatch

Grab your 15 seconds of fame!

We’ve all wanted to take part in a big-budget movie, right? Sure we have. And now you have the opportunity to do just that! Sort of.

The movie is Star Wars. You know… Episode IV… A New Hope… the original… Star Wars. Yeah, that’s right. You get to be in Star Wars. Pretty cool, huh!?

Here’s the catch – you have to choose one 15 segment, and you have to film it yourself.

That’s right, . . . → Read More: Grab your 15 seconds of fame!

The Andrews Sisters – Tuesday TubeWatch

Today’s videos harken back to a simpler time when the world was at war and the news of death was constant. Then, as now, the US Army combated morale drops with women entertainers and humor. At that time, Boogie Woogie was popular.

Luckily the Andrews Sisters were around at that time, and we ended up with this (from the 1941 Abbott and Costello film “Buck Privates”):

That’s probably the most well-known Andrews Sisters . . . → Read More: The Andrews Sisters – Tuesday TubeWatch

If only the Star Wars films were like this…

This is quite simply one of the best Star Wars trailers I’ve seen.

The problem is that it’s the cinematics associated with the game, and no in-game footage, so the actual game experience will be much different. But that’s also the cool thing about this… it’s high-resolution and looks awesome, because they aren’t dropping down to game-play resolution.

I don’t know a whole lot about the Old Republic time period, other than what I know . . . → Read More: If only the Star Wars films were like this…

Better late than never (maybe): Tuesday TubeWatch

Okay, yeah, the day’s almost over, but you know how it is… things got away from me. The dog ate my homework. And then he did this:

So there you have it. Not just a dog on a skateboard… a dog purposefully riding a skateboard. There’s something very calming about that video.

Yeah, it’s been around a long time, but if you haven’t seen it before, it’s new to you…

Tuesday TubeWatch: Banjos and Steve Martin (and Star Wars!)

A long time ago, before I knew how to embed videos, I linked out to a David Letterman clip showing Steve Martin and Earl Scruggs (and a bunch of other guys) doing “Foggy Mountain Breakdown” as Guys with Banjos Who Know How to Use Them. It’s still one of my favorite live Banjo bits, mostly because I’m fascinated by the fact that Steve Martin can actually play the banjo. I don’t know why that fascinates . . . → Read More: Tuesday TubeWatch: Banjos and Steve Martin (and Star Wars!)

Tuesday TubeWatch: Super Bowl Movie Roundup

If you were the head of a movie company, which movies would you choose to spend $1.5 million per 30 seconds to advertise during the Super Bowl—an event watched primarily by people who like to watch men running and slamming into each other? Let me give you a hint: it wouldn’t be Wendy and Lucy.

No. You get action. You get slow motion beatings and martial acrobatics. You get fast cutting, adrenaline pushing excitement and . . . → Read More: Tuesday TubeWatch: Super Bowl Movie Roundup

Tuesday TubeWatch: Ikea and Jonathan Coulton

Ever since “Ikea” popped up on one of my Pandora stations months ago, it’s been one of my favorites.

Every time I hear or see words like “Ikea,” “Thor,” or “Norsemen” this song immediately pops to mind. It’s surprising how many times that happens given I live in the US nowhere near an Ikea.

It’s catchy, and it’s funny. (And Paul, if you don’t listen to this one, I will hunt you down.)

Caprica clip

While I’m spending time in the BSG universe, here’s a clip from the prequel series, Caprica.

The series debuts next year. Apparently it will not take place in space much, if at all, which makes sense, given the title of the series is the name of the planet. Seems like it will revolve around the creation of the Cylons. I’m willing to give it a shot.

Coming Soon: Tuesday TubeWatch

I’m gonna try starting a recurring series here at Caddickisms. Every Tuesday I’ll post a video for your enjoyment and/or edification. In other words, I’m gonna embed a video here that I like for one reason or another, and sometimes I’ll include 5-syllable words in the post to make me feel smarter. The video could be long, or it could be short. It might be fun, exciting, educational, full of meaning, or it might be . . . → Read More: Coming Soon: Tuesday TubeWatch
