By Jeff, on June 5th, 2011 In light of my most recent post, and the fact that I’m putting the Polls back in the right sidebar, I thought I’d open up a new poll question…
What’s the best X-Men movie?
X-Men X-Men: United (X2) X-Men: The Last Stand X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men: First Class

I’m still going with the original X-Men. I think it showed the teamwork aspect better than the others, though really X2 and First Class are really close for me.

By Jeff, on June 4th, 2011 Magneto, Professor X, Mystique, Beast, Banshee, Darwin, Angel, Emma Frost, Havoc, Azazel, Sebastian Shaw, and… um… tornado dude.
That’s a lot of characters to pull together in one movie. They did a pretty decent job of using them all. But the focus here is obviously with the top 3 (arguably 4) names.

By Jeff, on May 7th, 2011 I’m a bit behind in putting up my movie list for this year.
Last year’s list was full of promise, but I only got to see 4 of the 21 listed films in the theater. I’ve since brought the total up to 11 with the help of DVDs. I hope to catch the 12th (Voyage of the Dawn Treader) on DVD next week. I’m still annoyed that I missed that one.

By Jeff, on December 19th, 2008 I don’t know a whole lot about Wolverine’s origins other than what is in the X-Men movies. For some reason I never read the comics versions. I’m pretty excited to see this. Plus, it’s got Gambit. I know some people don’t like him, but he was one of my favorite X-Men from the TV cartoons.
Not sure how that helicopter thing is going to work out… that looks a bit cheesy in the trailer, . . . → Read More: Wolverine movie trailer
By Jeff, on May 28th, 2006 Hmm…. how do I do this without giving away spoilers?
This was simultaneously the coolest and weakest of the three X-men movies. It earns coolest because it had some excellent battle scenes, and took more chances, story-wise, than the other two movies. It earns weakest because I was never as engaged with this movie as the others. It never seemed to flow quite right. Even the music seemed off to me.
I really like that . . . → Read More: Review: X-Men 3: The Last Stand
